When was the last time you failed? Really failed. And looked bad doing it. This might be in a relationship, on the job, a home project, or during a fitness training session. It’s scary. But if you’ve been avoiding, give it a try.
Why? We shouldn’t be satisfied with shining brightly during tasks of mediocrity. We should be compelled to lead extraordinary lives. That path, requires failure!
When we talk about training with Kenzai, we can’t do so without talking about failure. Muscle failure is the type of failure we reference most often here. This technique of taxing out a muscle means that you’re ripping up muscle fibers to ensure you get good growth in the next few days ahead. How spectacular. Why not embrace the challenges of life with the same spirit?
Everyone struggles. But we challenge you to invite you to struggle with purpose. Each time you do, you are provided with the opportunity to strengthen your resolve. Think of it as the ability to bare up under stress with the knowledge that you’ll bounce back stronger, smarter, and more skilled. Further, when you struggle you come into contact with your humanity. This binds us, a global community, together.
Keep this in mind, the next time you are feeling weak, frustrated, overwhelmed, or insignificant. Be sure to stay calm. Avoid the compulsion to relive your failures over and over. Win the mental battle by doubling down on the effort to move forward, remaining open to the lessons of whatever great difficulty you are facing.
We don’t need to beg and plead for an easy life, just an interesting one full of passion, hard-work, and some grim enthusiasm.
Failure ensures this!
